Ladies and Gentlemen, I assure you we are still dead.
A somewhat-confusing Schoolyard Heroes email newsletter was sent out recently with the promise of “new music coming soon,” kinda making it sound like some bodacious new Schoolyard jams were about to drop. Not true. Our bad. But in other news, there ARE some rad new musical projects in the works and one dead one! Here is the update:
Blood Cells is Done Cells. Sorry. Those few shows were pretty sweet though!
Ryann (the all-powerful frontwoman and soaring vocalist of Schoolyard) has moved to New York City to pursue a different and new pop musical project with a bunch of different songwriters and vibe different than either Schoolyard or Blood Cells. It is going to be fun and dancy and she will have some new tunes for you to check out soon, so keep your ears peeled!
Brian (the flame-haired drum pummeller for Schoolyard) has been spotting melting faces with Grenades. They are a ripping and brutal post-rock outfit which also features members of our dearly departed sister-band Kane Hodder. They KILL. He can also be seen behind the trap for the great People Eating People.
Steve (flame-fingered shredder of Schoolyard and most killer hair in rock n’ roll) is drinking tea and taking it easy for all the sinners. L-I-V-I-N’!!!
I, Jonah (bass player, screamer, and primary songwriter for Schoolyard) have a brand new band in the works called “The Dark.” It features me singing and playing bass along with the remaining members of Blood Cells… setting fire to everything in our path. We are in the process of booking our very first shows and I am excited to announce the first one very soon. Beware.
We still love you, even from beyond the grave.
ROCK,
Schoolyard H.

Thank you to everyone who came down to El Corazon on Saturday, sold the place out, and danced and screamed with us one last time!! It was the most fun that we have ever had and we owe you the biggest thanks in the world for supporting us and loving us for the last nine years. Sorry for everyone who could not get in or not make it because you live in a distant city, but I assure you that we were thinking of you as we sweat/bled/rocked one last time.

Today is the day. Thank you to everyone, for everything, for the last decade of our musical lives. We love you more than you will ever know.
Please join us for one last dance party as Schoolyard Heroes. Tonight at El Corazon, in our fair city of Seattle Washington. We will be joined by our exceptional friends People Eating People, Sirens Sister, Blood Cells, and Kane Hodder.
Get your tickets at the door and we will meet you on the dancefloor. We came to destroy. Now let's fucking do this right.
